UKROC: measuring rehabilitation provision at Matthews Unit
The Matthews team is committed to capturing outcomes achieved by service-users on a rehabilitation pathway and knowing how the unit benchmarks against other rehabilitation services. UKROC is one of the ways in which Matthews unit collects and shares data regarding its rehabilitation provision.
What is UKROC?
The UK specialist Rehabilitation Outcomes Collaborative (UKROC) was developed in 2008 through a Department of Health NIHR Programme Grant to develop a national database for collating case episodes for inpatient rehabilitation.
UKROC provides information on rehabilitation requirements, the inputs provided to meet them, outcomes and cost-benefits of rehabilitation for patients with different levels of need.
At present, Matthews Unit submits pseudonymised information to UKROC of service-users recruited into the UKROC dataset. This data includes outcome measures such as Rehabilitation Complexity Scale (RCS), Functional Independence Measure – Functional Assessment Measure (FIM-FAM), Neurological Impairment Scale (NIS), Northwick Park Dependency Assessment (NPDS) and the Northwick Park Therapy Dependency Assessment (NPTDA).
